Welcome to the 82nd episode of the Give A Heck Podcast!

Join Dwight Heck and his guest Raj Subrameyer, as he shares his transition from IT to business coaching and why he advocates for breaking free from false identities after identifying them.

Raj shares how most of the coping mechanisms that people tend to turn to in the face of fear and anxiety turn into an addiction, stress trap, or any other habit that are counter-productive to a person’s goals.

Raj also shares the quote from Zig Ziglar, “you don’t have to be great to start, you have to start to be great” which greatly summarizes the episode, as there’s a lot to unpack about the theme of false identities brought from negative influences so be sure to stay tuned!

In this episode, you’ll learn about:

  • Raj’s childhood influences and his current endeavours
  • How imposter syndrome and anxiety affect the personality
  • Why learning the skills you need is a crucial first step
  • Consistency is more important than intensity
  • Importance of doing the work
  • And much more!

About Raj Subrameyer:

Raj grew up in the southern part of India in a conservative middle-class family. The youngest of two kids, from a young age, he developed this inferiority complex that he was not good enough. This was partly because of his childhood upbringing; where his dad was insanely smart, his brother was a genius, and he was the average kid who did not do well in academics.

The moment of truth came during the second year of his undergraduate. Raj was sitting in his room, and all the 20 years of depression and anger which had bottled up inside me – exploded. The pandora’s box of feelings opened up, and he let it all out. He told himself that he is not stupid, he is enough, he matters, he is capable of achieving greatness, and he can pave his own career path. This was when he declared power over my life.
