The Power of Connection: Why Traditional Conferences & Events Fall Short with Dwight Heck

Welcome to the 111 episode of Give A Heck podcast!

Are you interested in self-improvement, but feel like you’re not making any progress?
Do you want to learn from successful people, but don’t know how to connect with them?
Are you interested in attending conferences and events, but feel like you don’t fit in? “I believe in you. I believe that you can change your events to a style where it’s more connection through origin, more connection about sharing, more connection about raising people up to help them climb in life.” I’m always looking for ways to learn and grow. When I was younger, I got most of my information from the library. But as I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized that this isn’t always the best way to learn. I’ve been to hundreds of conferences and events, and I’ve noticed that the traditional way of doing things is no longer effective. At these events, speakers come on stage and pitch their products and services for the entire time they’re speaking. This doesn’t leave any room for genuine connection or vulnerability.
I’m tired of this pitch-fest style of event. I’m looking for something more authentic, where speakers are actually interested in connecting with the audience and helping them grow. I’m grateful to have found events like this that are more focused on connection.
In this episode, you will learn the following:
1. How do we learn in life?
2. What are the different ways and aspects where we can go to learn and gather information throughout our lives?
3. What is the problem with the way we gather information as we grow older? Resources: Give A Heck www.giveaheck.com
